Our Mission
Where They Stand USA is a nonpartisan voter information resource dedicated to helping Americans make informed decisions at the ballot box. We believe every voter deserves clear, factual, unbiased information about the candidates running for office — without spin, without agenda, and without advertising influence on our editorial content.
What We Do
We research candidates running for federal, state, and local office across the United States and present their positions, biographies, voting records, and public statements in a clear, side-by-side format. Our goal is to make it easy for voters to compare candidates on the issues that matter most to them — without having to visit dozens of websites or sift through partisan news coverage.
Our Methodology
All candidate information published on Where They Stand USA is sourced from the following:
- Official candidate campaign websites
- Public statements, press releases, and interviews
- Verified reporting from established news organizations
- Official government records including voting records and campaign finance filings
- Candidate responses to our nonpartisan questionnaires
We make every effort to present the most current version of each candidate’s stated positions. Where candidates have shifted positions over time, we note the most recently stated stance. We apply the same level of scrutiny and the same word count to all candidates regardless of party affiliation.
Our Commitment to Neutrality
Where They Stand USA does not endorse any candidate, political party, or policy position. Our editorial team does not accept payment to feature or promote any candidate. We do not allow advertising relationships to influence the content of our candidate profiles or comparison pages. If you believe any content on our site contains an error or reflects bias, please contact us immediately — we take accuracy seriously and will investigate and correct errors promptly.
Coverage Areas
We currently cover Illinois elections including the 2026 governor’s race between JB Pritzker and Darren Bailey. We are actively expanding our coverage to additional states and races including U.S. Senate, U.S. House, state legislative races, and local elections including school board races, mayoral races, and ballot referendums.
